Ed Barreveld Ed Barreveld honed his filmmaking skills at Canada's Oscar-winning documentary studio, the National Film Board of Canada, more than two decades ago. Post National Film Board he line-produced independent documentaries for broadcasters such as CBC, BBC, A&E and History TV, until co-founding Storyline Entertainment in 2000 and producing its first film, the award winning Aftermath: The Remnants of War. Since 2003 he has been the company's sole principal creating an international profile for the company with social/political point of view documentaries and distinct history programming. As a producer, Barreveld has worked with some of Canada's finest filmmakers and, looking beyond Canada's borders, has forged partnerships with co-producers and investors in Germany, Belgium, Australia, Greece and the United States of America creating a critically acclaimed body of work. In 2013 Realscreen named Storyline one of its top 100 Global non-fiction producers. Barreveld's films are seen on television screens and at film festivals around the world and have garnered accolades and major awards, including several Geminis. Though spending more time behind a computer screen than the camera these days, he still manages to spend time in the field, doing what he likes best; working with documentary crews. Barreveld has traveled the world on his films, working in such places as India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Israel, Tunisia, France, Germany, Russia, Bosnia, Vietnam, Australia, across Canada and the US.
