The Isabel Bader Theatre, 93 Charles St. West, Toronto

November 12, 2001

On behalf of Storyline Entertainment I want to thank everyone for making our benefit premier screening at the Isabel Bader Theatre on November 8th a wonderful success. I have had only positive feedback thus far. The theater was filled with 325 people. A great turn out especially since Bob Dylan was in town and there were two other benefit screenings and a freedom of speech dinner. Author Donovan Webster’s book sold out its 250 copies at the Random House table. I am also pleased to say that the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation sold all their Cambodian silk scarves. Similarly, Arlene Willis of Grapes for Humanity was successful in raising funds for their landmine charity (visit: www.grapesforhumanity.com). The panel with Bobby Muller, Anna Maria Tremonti, Donovan Webster and director Daniel Sekulich was a great success thanks to our spirited audience. Luckily a brawl did not break out – but it was touch and go.

Producer Ed Barreveld, director Daniel Sekulich and I are preparing to go to Amsterdam where Aftermath will be in competition for the Silver Wolf award at the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (visit: www.idfa.nl). While we are Amsterdam we will also drop into the Paris screening of Aftermath: The Remnants of War" at the 20th International Festival of Environmental Films (visit: www.filmenvir.org) where hopefully two deminers from the French section of the documentary will join us.

Thank you to the many people who helped us organize the event and thank you for coming out.

Cheers,

Michael Kot
