Fields of Bones

As farAs far as the eyecan see and in all directions bits of bone stick up out of the ground. A femur here, ribs there, a pelvis, shoulder blades... .
This farmers field seems to be sprouting skeletons. The bones work themselves up from the shallow, hurried graves; relics of the historic conceit of nations here at Stalingrad.
