The Americans dropped more bombs here than were used by all sides combined during the entire Second World War. The remnants turn villages like Khe Sahn into junkyards and the school's playground is a collection of weapons meant to maim and kill. The battle here was like a miniature Verdun with more than one-hundred thousand tons of B52 ordnance dropped in this area in little more than six months.
